Shooting Bridal Portraits in a Crunched Timeline

If you’ve shot even one International wedding, for instance, San Diego Wedding Photography, you know how chaotic and unpredictable they’re. And if there’s anything we have learned in a decade of shooting weddings, it’s that anything that can happen on a wedding day. Even the best-planned timelines can run late. The sweet one hour that your bride promised to San Diego Wedding Photographer for her portraits, could very well change to 5 minutes. Now you can complain and blame the next person you see for putting a dent in your shoot or a wedding photographer can buck up and plan ahead to deliver the best portraits for the bride. After all, what we’re here for right? Creating beautiful pictures from the wedding day that your couple and their families will cherish years from now, no matter what happens.

We have broken down our game into four simple tips!

# Prepare beforehand and recce the location thoroughly

While you are waiting for your bride to get ready- you have a lot of time- move around and recce the location for good spots with lighting. Keep in mind that the location should not be too far from where the bride is because you have just a few minutes, you don’t want to spend all of them walking over the location and then getting clicking only a one-shot in only a minute.

The next thing to do is keeping your light setup ready beforehand. Place one of your team members as the subject, test the shot and have it ready before the bride is.

# Keep a few poses in mind

When you know you don’t have much time in hand and you definitely don’t have time to experiment with poses. Don’t waste the time you do have to get your bride into some complicate set-up for photographs. In these stress levels, always keep things simple and worry-free for your bride. So have a small list of 4 to 6 poses burned in your mind, then go ahead and experiment a little when your bride gets ready for her special day.

# Be clear and direct with your instructions

We know we keep emphasizing time, but that’s exactly what this blog is about. If you only have a few minutes, so be clear and precise on your instructions while you are doing San Diego Wedding Photography. Tell your bride exactly where to stand, where to place her hand, which direction to look in and what facial expression to go far. Be direct, but keep your tone friendly and relaxed. Your bride will be stressed enough as it is, and you don’t want to add to her tension.
